My satirical look at the Pope’s resignation got over 500 views at Queerlandia on it’s first day. It’s already trending to be another busy day, with early traffic hits continuing to build. This is my third largest single day hit count since I started writing these blogs. I may have to start writing more “investigative” reports! 😉

So you think an actor would be all cool about something like this… you know, talking to someone famous. Yeah, sometimes not so much!

And of course, being the Star Trek/NASA/Space Cadet I am, I had to jump in, even if none of them see or notice my Tweet!

If any of them respond, you’ll probably hear the squee from anywhere on the planet or in nearby space.
Update: Scrolling through the Commander’s Twitter feed, I came upon this gem:

I took a lot of grief when I was young about my fascination (to coin a phrase!) with Star Trek. My, how times change!
My very first Oyster. San Francisco, December, 2012

Wednesday night, December 19, 2012. Dinner at Pier 23, San Francisco, after a day of dispatcher training class in Pittsburg. My very first experience with oysters on the half shell. As I said in the video, it’s highly overrated! Must be one of those “do it because everyone else does” things. Or maybe it just takes more of them to break through my already impressive stoic-ness. 😉 Oh, and if they’re supposed to be an aphrodisiac, it apparently takes more than just one. (thank goodness, since I just went back to the hotel room… alone)

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.
Here’s an excerpt:
4,329 films were submitted to the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. This blog had 15,000 views in 2012. If each view were a film, this blog would power 3 Film Festivals

Will photobombing Jim’s self portrait
So this week I was in the Bay area, specifically Pittsburg, California, for Dispatcher Training, as required by POST, to keep my certification current. Since Pittsburg is only a 45 minute BART ride from San Francisco, you can be sure we snuck off to see the sights, and tempt fate.
I did two things on this little excursion that I’ve never done before, and since this isn’t Las Vegas, this is (some of) the story! No names were changed to protect anyone… as my “about” says, the guilty are hung out to dry!

Ghosts, gays, and a haunted house

Pearle Zalud lived in the house until her death at the age of 84 in 1970. Pearle and several of her family members have died in the residence, and one piece of furniture sits in an upstairs bedroom, still displaying the bullet hole created when Pearle’s brother-in-law, William Brooks, was shot while sitting in it at a bank in downtown Porterville.
On February 12, 2013, the Tuesday Evening Dining Group (TEDG) went to Porterville for dinner, a walking historical tour of downtown, and a special visit inside the Zalud House. Hosted by Porterville’s Paranormal Movement Investigations team, TEDG went ghost hunting! Did we find any? Well….
