Gay Porn Star - Straight and Married Meet Reece “Jacobs” (AKA Reece Rideout) and his wife Becki.  He’s a porn star.  A gay porn star.  Not a gay man who is in porn, but a man who is in gay porn. But he’s straight.  I know, it’s confusing, right? UK magazine Marie Claire has an article about the Oregon couple in the February 2011 issue, where Becki talks about being married to a man who has gay sex on camera for a living.  She says she’s OK with it, and prefers it to him having sex o … Read More

Being Human – Or Trying

BEING HUMAN -- Season: 1 -- Pictured: (l-r) Sam Huntington as Josh, Meaghan Rath as Sally, Sam Witwer as Aidan -- Photo by: Jill Greenberg/Syfy

So Great Britain sends us another quirky story to make over in our own setting.  A ghost, a vampire, and a werewolf set up housekeeping in the former home of the ghost and her husband.  The husband is the landlord, the ghost is trying to be seen by him, and the werewolf and the vampire are simply trying to get through each day not killing anyone.

I’ve watched the first two episodes so far, and I’m liking it.  It has some dark tones, some light tones, and a good mix of clever humor.

I’ll be watching it more to see where it goes, and if they can keep it interesting.  I hope it doesn’t devolve into some kind of Ghost/Vampire/Werewolf 90210 idiocy, but we’ll have to see.  Good writing so far, and maybe having it’s roots in British television will help.

God save the Queen.  And the hot vampire.  The werewolf’s not half bad, either.

Update on Olbermann and MSNBC News

Well, it looks like Olbermann and MSNBC were discussing his leaving for at least a week, and maybe longer, before yesterday’s announcement.  The New York Times is reporting that the discussions were ongoing for several weeks, and that Olbermann was the only prime-time host not present at a recent luncheon event held for advertisers.

MSNBC execs may not be the complete asses that initial reporting made them out to be, and that the parting is more mutual.  We, of course, still don’t know what was going on behind the scenes, or what effect ComCast’s buyout of NBC really had on Olbermann’s status.

Still, whatever the reasons for Olbermann’s departure, it will leave a big gap in MSNBC’s lineup that no amount of program shuffling will fill.

Maybe I’ll watch more than just Rachel Maddow, after all.  We’ll see.

Somewhere.

I know where I am, how did you get lost?

It’s not that big of a planet, you know.

Not compared to Jupiter, anyway.

MSNBC Fires Keith Olbermann

I don’t know why, but today MSNBC told Keith Olbermann that today’s show was his last, as they were ending his contract.  Their press release on the matter says they wish him well in the future, but does not explain why the show was simply cut off.  No ratings numbers, no “difference of opinion” comments, nothing.  It must be difficult to come into work one morning and be told “this is it, after the show clean out your desk”.

MSNBC’s notice included this disclaimer, which immediately makes one think this is exactly what happened:

Msnbc spokesman Jeremy Gaines would say only that the acquisition of NBC Universal by Comcast, which received regulatory approval this week, had nothing to do with the decision.

I do know one thing about the time slot formerly occupied by Countdown…  I won’t be watching whatever they put in it’s place.  I’ll tune in for Rachel Maddow, but otherwise they’ve lost a viewer.

Hopefully some other network will snap Olbermann up.  If one does, I implore them not to put him on at the same time as Maddow.  That would just be mean.

They Said WHAT?

Sometimes you just wouldn’t believe some of the things I hear on the radio at work.

What’s even more fun is some of the things I get to say!
