It’s pretty cool to interact with people who make a difference on a national stage. Lt. Dan Choi Tweeted that he was making an appearance on CNN, so I caught that short broadcast this morning as I was winding down my day. A good but short segment, he spoke briefly about Don’t Ask Don’t Tell and the recent court actions. After the CNN appearance, he Tweeted that he would be on CSpan, so I decided to stay up later than usual and catch that as well. CSpan allows for a more thorough examination of subjects, and callers can ask their own questions or make comments. I thought Lt. Choi did an excellent job, and fired off a Tweet to him after the CSpan segment. I was surprised to see a response 10 minutes later. With over 9,000 followers, I suspect it’s a challenge for Lt. Choi to keep up with comments, let alone answer them.
I briefly met Lt. Choi last summer when he gave a speech at UCMerced. An interesting appearance that I enjoyed. If you have the chance to see him somewhere, don’t miss it.
I don't often post things from religious sites. Most of the time what they say is 180 degrees from what I consider to be the truth, or at the very least the humane thing to say or do. This opinion piece from Religion Dispatches is different. This article speaks the truth, and is worth your time. Why Anti-Gay Bullying is a Theological Issue By Cody J. Sanders And the moral imperative of anti-bullying preaching, teaching, and activism [caption i … Read More
There it is, in all it’s glory! Just in time for the cold weather. You can get one too, with several different designs to choose from! Check out the store link above. Makes a great Christmas present! 😉
It was an easy one, right? Unless one’s gaydar is completely wonko, it’s clear he’s gay. But sometimes I don’t trust mine, especially when there’s clearly some wishful thinking going on. But, the cat’s out of the bag, “Suprise Party” boy really is “fabulous!”. The Advocate.com has an interview with Craigery Morgan about his YouTube viral sensation, “Surprise Party”. A Florida college student, Craigery talks to The Advocate about the video, why he did it, and why he does his spoofs shirtless.
This Tweet from the President generated my response. The Department of Defense is suspending discharges under “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell”, but the Department of Justice is appealing the Federal Court ruling striking it down. The President has 5.6 million Twitter followers, so I’m not expecting that anyone, let alone him, ever actually reads the feed. But I feel better, anyway. 😉
Levi, Tiger, Bill, Hillary, Oprah, Barack, Martha, Snow White… the list goes on. They’re all here, and if you’ve not seen it before you’re missing out, and if it’s been a while, you need to see it again to catch up!
I had more fun and laughs at this show than anything in a long time. I highly recommend it, no visit to San Francisco will ever be complete without a stop here.
Getting some chow at my favorite food place… sorry, Taco Bell. (and the boys who work here very friendly, and hotties, too!) This store at Akers & Goshen, stop in and check them out. The food’s good, too.
Come on, admit it. You can’t resist a hoodie like this, can you?? I didn’t think so! Get on over to my store and check out all the goodies. Click here, or go to the “store” tab up in the menu bar. I’ll be adding designs and images in the near future, so keep checking back. I’m sure you’ll find something you just can’t live without! 😉
And for all the QueerNetworks stuff you’ll need to be the hottest queer on the block, be sure and check out The Q Store too!
Random thoughts, occasional rants, illuminating commentary, and an odd story now and then from the world of 9-1-1 dispatching. All this and more from a gay liberal atheist living in California’s Bible belt. I recently married, so MAGA beware! I’m your worst nightmare! Some names have been omitted to protect the innocent, but the guilty will be hung out to dry!
