Dieux du Stade 2011: Behind the scenes

I posted a couple of pictures a while back about rugby being my new favorite sport. I may have to expand my horizons a bit. The Dieux du Stade 2011 calendar sports more than just rugby players. Here’s one of a series of ‘behind the scenes’ videos recorded during shooting sessions for the new calendar.
I’m thinking a second career in photography might be in order, someday!

Some of the folks who brought us Toy Story, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, WALL-E, Cars, Monsters, Inc., and so much more have made a “It Gets Better” video. It’s well worth 8 minutes of your time, and I recommend watching it.

An amazing picture of my niece Katie and kitty Cleo, brazenly stolen from her FaceBook page!

Hey! What is happening? Is Washington actually going to surprise me and pass the National Defense Authorization Act WITH the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell still in the bill? It seems so! Recent reports are making it look like the bill will come before the Senate with the repeal provision intact, and that there are enough votes to prevent a filibuster by Senator John McCain or others.
I’m crossing my fingers, and looking forward to seeing this discriminatory stain on our national honor fading away, beginning next year.
Stay tuned.
MySpace isn’t, anymore

If their goal is to run off everyone except the teenagers, they’ve succeeded. The interface is too busy, it takes too long to load, and advertisements and other junk keep gumming up the works, making my computer act like it’s suddenly an 836 with 20 megs of RAM! MySpace isn’t, anymore. I’ll keep the page just to refer people here, and to have my Tweets pop up. And who knows, there might be a kid or two who will find me interesting.
