Enterprise Captain sacked for inappropriate behavior, videos.
After videos recorded on the USS Enterprise in 2006 and 2007 were publicly released, the US Navy first suspended Captain Owen Honors, then today removed him from command of the aircraft carrier.
Admiral John C. Harvey Jr., commander of U.S. Fleet Forces Command in Norfolk, Virginia said “I have lost confidence in his ability to command the Enterprise”.
The videos, recorded while Honors was second-in-command, showed a “profound lack of good judgment and professionalism” said the Admiral. The videos, designed to entertain sailors during a six- month deployment, included anti-gay slurs, simulated masturbation and two women, shown from the shoulders up, showering together. The then-commander was involved in the making of the videos, appears in them, and approved them to be distributed on the ship.
This will effectively end the Captain’s career. This isn’t Starfleet, or the Federation, where a captain can get away with things simply because he’s half way across the galaxy.

Oh, and here’s the real, former, Captain of the USS Enterprise:

I Want YOU - For The US Air Force!
On December 22, 2010, I posted this picture and a link to NOH8’s website where it and others of military men affected by Don’t Ask Don’t Tell could be found.
Now the latest news about the status of Lt. Col. Victor Fehrenbach, the Air Force officer in this picture:
The South Bend Tribune reports that the Air Force has informed Lt. Col. Fehrenbach that he will be retired with his full rank and pension on October 1, 2011. This effectively cancels the discharge proceedings that were in progress since he was involuntarily outed in 2008.
