Text blast to Republican-leaning residents of Visalia 10-29-2026
A $1,000 donation from the Service Employees International Union local 2015 to Soto is branded as from “a Los Angeles PAC”. This donation is from the union local, whose members include District 4. In their rather selective outrage, however, the Tulare County Republican Central Committee failed to mention this:
An actual PAC, from Los Angeles, donating to Kastle. Twice as much as was donated to Soto (from a local union office). You can check Kastle’s official financial reporting for this, here.
Soto released this information today:
Fifteen donations from outside of Visalia. Only four of them from outside of Tulare County.
Tulare County Republican Central Committee added to the lies posted a few days ago by the Tulare County Republican Party Facebook page, accusing Soto of voting against a Chick-fil-A restaurant coming to Visalia. There was no such vote, and the only vote they could have been referencing was not about Chick-fil-A. Steve Nelsen, a long-time member of the Visalia City Council for District 5, also voted “no” on that item. (It was about a Sam’s gas station in the same shopping center development, not about Chick-fil-A)
They also failed to advise their followers of this donation, by (I believe) Kastle’s employer,
Boswell also loaned the Kastle campaign $4,000. Is that on top of the $2,500 donation listed above? I don’t know. I don’t see any payments to Boswell listed on Kastle’s 460 form.
For a text message worrying about a candidate “who answers… to outside money”, their own candidate has received plenty of his own “outside money”.
But, hey. Republicans this was directed at won’t bother to check. Will they?
Random thoughts, occasional rants, illuminating commentary, and an odd story now and then from the world of 9-1-1 dispatching. All this and more from a gay liberal atheist living in California’s Bible belt. I recently married, so MAGA beware! I’m your worst nightmare! Some names have been omitted to protect the innocent, but the guilty will be hung out to dry!
Is it congenital? Can they just not help themselves? More Tulare County GOP lies.
